Olivia Buraks

Olivia received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University in 2024. During her undergraduate studies, she had the opportunity to conduct research in multiple laboratories, focusing on several different research areas including immuno-oncology, RNA biology, sleep deprivation and nanomedicine. In these labs, Olivia contributed to projects focused on CAR-M therapies, RNA splicing for drug targets, the effects of sleep deprivation on inflammation, and exosome production. These experiences developed her passion for research and guided the decision to pursue her PhD at CU Boulder! Olivia is so excited to be joining the Hill Lab to investigate microbiome impacts on pancreatic cancer!

After growing up on the east coast, I have been thoroughly enjoying the Colorado mountains. Almost every weekend you can find me hiking or skiing! During the week, I love biking and spin classes, catching up on my latest reality competition show, or baking.  I also have a passion for travel and enjoy experiencing new places. Some highlights are Europe during my study abroad in Florence, the middle east, and my trip to Southeast Asia!
