Gabriella Giese
Gabriella received her Bachelor of Science in Biology Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in December 2023. While at IUP, she worked with Dr. Cuong Diep on a project studying kidney development and regeneration in zebrafish—an experience that inspired her to pursue a PhD. Also during her undergraduate studies, she earned certification to teach grades 7–12, reflecting another of her strong passions. After graduating, Gabriella joined Dr. Raiees Andrabi’s lab at the University of Pennsylvania as a lab technician, where she worked on HIV vaccine design before beginning her graduate studies at CU Boulder in 2024.
When I’m not in the lab, you’ll either find me with my nose in a book or out and about with my favorite people! I enjoy hiking, cooking, and watching/playing sports. Fun fact: my favorite animals are penguins! Here’s a picture from a few years ago at Animal Kingdom, where I got to get up close and personal!
